An evening of Glitz and Glamour At The 2023 SA Style Awards

SA Style Awards is an award show that does not only celebrate style but is a platform that celebrates careers. The award show is an annual event that is renowned for inclusivity with categories such as The Next Big Thing, Most Innovative Style, Most Stylish Media Personality to Most Stylish SA Icon. these categories highlight up-and-coming individuals and tribute iconic individuals.

The SA Style Awards held at Hyde Park on 13/02/2023 had the streets buzzing in this year's theme Uber Glam - Dare To Be Red and the stars delivered. The Big winners of the night were Refilwe Modiselle and Legend Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse.

Refilwe Modiselle was honored with the Most Stylish Changemaker award, recognising her contributions to activism, modeling, and in film.

"It's not just style according to how you look but says you're graceful in the impact that you're making. My mother always used to say 'when you step out of this house you must understand that you represent something'. I never really understood when I was a child but now it makes so much sense because now, I know the embodiment of what people see," Refilwe said on receiving the award.

Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse won the Style Icon.

In his acceptance speech, he shared a message condemning gender-based violence.

The legendary musicians said. "I don't want to dampen your happiness tonight," he began, "but I want us to spare a thought".

"Today, we find our men doing things that we shouldn't be doing, our women do not deserve to be ill-treated, they only deserve to be loved. When we say Valentine's celebration, this is what we mean. We should buy them flowers and not stab them."

Most Stylish Couple- Lamiez Holworthy and Khuli Chana, the couple who are expecting a baby boy.
